The Venus/Mars Conjunction in Taurus
…boy OH boy, have I been waiting for this. I’m sure you all can feel it too. We are now entering amazing territory. A space that shall bring us all immense healing in the realms of Love, Money, and Spirit.
We have entered Eclipse season with a New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Gemini coming around the corner next week, and today (Monday, May 23, 2011) Venus and Mars are conjunct in Taurus reformulating our deepest assumptions in our lives. This aspect is bringing an overflowing basket of goodies, spilling every which way, creating a fertile ground for many wonderful things to come.
Here is an excerpt from the May 2011 Astrological Overview sent out by Priya Kale:
“Perhaps the most significant aspect this month comes around the end of May when Venus-Mars conjunction in Taurus. This can be rather indulgent energy and is laden with rich, luscious and fertile possibilities – financially, romantically and creatively. The next conjunction will not be until 2013 in Aries, making this a rather rare aspect. What we make of it will depend on our ability to recognize the potential in something or someone [and more importantly what it means to us.]
“These planets usually conjunct once ever 2 years, but recently since 2008 (the last conjunction before that was in October 2006 in Scorpio) we’ve had a series of Venus-Mars conjunctions in close succession suggesting a situation or relationship that has been in a rapid state of evolution.
“Venus-Mars were conjunct in Libra on Sep. 12, 2008, in Aries on April 22, 2009, then on June 21, 2009 in Taurus, on Aug. 21, 2010 in Libra and the most recent one on Oct. 4, 2010 in Scorpio. Look back to these dates and you will see a greater pattern emerging in financial and creative situations, relationships and especially a close personal relationship you share. Especially look to the time around of Oct. 4, 2010 when Mars and Venus made a conjunction in Scorpio. We were learning deep, dark perhaps painful truths and secrets at that time especially surrounding sexual relationships and financial commitments. Things were changing deeply back then and we were certainly put in the ring of fire.
But as the planets conjunct again in Taurus on May 23, 2011 in the opposite side of the zodiac look at how far you’ve come from six months ago. Scorpio represents transformation and although something was ‘dying’ it was a necessary part of the process of resurrection. Now as the planets conjunct in Taurus, we are learning what is ‘real’ never dies, it only changes and evolves to reveal true form.” — Priya Kale, May 1, 2011.

It is terribly important right now to be completely honest with yourself and those around you about what it is you are looking for out of your life. A crossroads comes with this aspect in all of our relationships. I feel its a time to define our Center, and also to plan on how we will interact with others from this point forward. A time to channel Grandfather energy as my good friend would say. To be unaffected by other peoples opinions, but also to be quite careful about our own opinions and assumptions about others. It is a time of new commitments. Mine? To never talk badly about another person. I had to learn this lesson by watching a dear friend get ruined in the process. It taught me sooOooo much about my own tendency to judge or to be critical. And so, this is my commitment: To channel GrandFather energy, and to become an empty vessel that is constantly filled and emptied by love and understanding!
Anytime Venus and Mars make aspects, relationships and financial situations are highlighted and in Taurus this is clutch. It relates to our own Values and Self-Love! The next time Venus and Mars make a conjunction in Taurus will be 30 years in the future in 2041 when Saturn returns to Libra, making this an especially rare aspect. Taurus is a sign that rules deep commitments and the commitments we are making now are setting the stage for the 30 years that are about to start unraveling. So…plant those seeds, and be commited to the tender process of watching these amazing visions grow into fruit bearing trees! This will require patience and commitment but the fruits of your efforts will be well worth it.

Another interesting point to mention before I log off from blog land, is that also, back in October of 2010, Venus went Retrograde shortly after the conjunction with Mars. This time of reevaluation began in early October and ended in late November. If you think back, it was a tumultous time for many in the realm of Love and Money. Whatever darkness we experienced back in the Fall is actually coming Full Circle now. So sit with that, try to understand what was going on deep inside your Soul then, and see now how it is coming into manifestation!!!
Some News:
This past week was a big one for me as far as implimenting new activities into my life. We had our first Astrology Circle on Thursday which was a wonderful succes, and I have decided to fully commit to making it happen every Thursday from now on. * Also, on Saturday I did the first Lyons Market, and it too was a great success. If you feel called to come to the market, I will be offering donation based readings from 10-3pm through October
* And last, was my tabling out in front of Tonic bar that happened on Sunday from 2-6pm. Within those 4 hours, there was never a moment of lull. It was jam packed with wonderful exchange and healing potential. So…every Sunday, from 2-6pm, come down to Pearl st. and pay a visit, even if it is only to say hello.

Reflections on Rx
….my eyes are an Oceanic reflection of my wildest dreams…..

As I write, the moOn is at 6 degrees Virgo, just minutes away from trining currently reflective and cathartic Pluto in Capricorn (who is also retrograde). My Ascendant is 6 degrees Virgo. And so, I feel this to be a jolly good moment to write about the entangled state we find ourselves in.
Retrogrades “Rx”
Currently, there are 3 planets Retrograde: Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto. Though they aren’t in tight aspect to each other, they do form a “T-square.” A “T-square” aspect is when two planets oppose each other (Saturn in Libra opp Mercury in Aries), and are also squaring another planet (this is case: Pluto in Capricorn). The planet which squares the two opposing planets acts as a resolution point, or a remedy. In other words: Pluto is the medicine of this Transit, or this moment. (How perfect, since the moOn is about to trine Pluto, and attempt clear communication with the “Devil.”).
The Saturn/Mercury Opposition
Though this aspect isn’t exact–not until next week–it is still felt. I am one who feels that all aspects can be felt for days or weeks or even years before they are exact–depending of the speed of the planets in question. Once exact, there is a culmination. This is usually an event or experience that occurs. So what is it? What is Saturn and Mercury demanding of us? I would say: Clear communication! Within and without.
Since both of these planets are currently Retrograde, they are in a state of reflection. Saturn is demanding we finish everything we have started; Mercury is forcing us to reevaluate all of our out dated ways of thinking. Together, in this challenging aspect, it is only augmenting the normal effects of the Mercury Retro period. Already, I have seen computers die, cars crashing, communication breakdowns, and complete and devastating misunderstandings between people. To deal with this Transit, it is important to stay centered, and to be more aware than ever of your BREATH. Having some sort of breathing practice would a a good Rx for this Transit. Breathing keeps us calm and together, allowing the mind to deal with the stresses of daily life in a sustainable way. Also, I would advise all of you to be cautious of beginning anything during this time (it ends on the 23rd, in my opinion). This includes relationships, jobs, creative projects, or any alliances with others. Be careful. It is not the most auspicious time for these activities. It is more wise to stay slightly inward, and to rework and reorganize your life. Take care of yourself…….reinvent yourself!
The Pluto square: Resolution and Remedy
It is true: Our thoughts create our realities. This statement has the most profound implications for not only our lives, but for the future of the world. If we think we are unhealthy, then we will be unhealthy. If we think that the world is going to end in 2012, then that is exactly what we will get. Pluto in the Astrology chart represents the Soul’s intent; and what is the Soul’s intent? To grow, to change, to transform, to move back into the Source of all Things!!! With Pluto squaring the Mercury/Saturn opposition, we are challenged to weed out our out dated thought patterns from our minds, and change the content of the dialogue. As an example: If you have a terrible relationship with machines (ie. computers) and you are perpetually frustrated by there presence and vibration, it is no wonder why they don’t treat you well. They crash for you, so that you can have perfect opportunities to heal your relationship to them. If you change your thinking about the “machine” and start loving them, they will start reflecting this inner state. Again, our thoughts create our realities. Don’t believe me? Test it!
*a little exercise*:
….think of anything in your mind that you desire: a blue feather, a woman, a man, a dollar, a black leather whip….lol…..and keep it in your mind throughout the day–or days–until it comes to you. Stay diligent and you will see. It is Magic. And Magic is no mystery. Life is way stranger than you can suppose. This is what Pluto is demanding of us: Complete Transformation of our limiting thought patterns. It’s not easy, but its absolutely necessary. Be creative with it. Have fun.
Spring Cleaning
Spring has sprung–well, in most pockets of the Northern Hemisphere. Our three planets we just discussed (Saturn, Mercury, Pluto) are all Retrograde and Chiron/Neptune are also in Pisces. Time to cleanse. Some of you may feel like all of your shit is emerging all at once. This is normal, timely, and perfect. Don’t be afraid of it; watch it, and be committed to releasing it from your Body, Mind, and Spirit. Pisces works this way. It’s the Universal Energy that is quite Oceanic in nature, and it reveals the Truth of things. All of our problems are washed ashore. So…instead of running from our problems, or checking out in response to their “ghoulish” faces, pick them up, clean them up, nurture them, and then help them change. They need you to care for them. Don’t be afraid of them. All is illusion anyways (a Pisces truism); so what are you afraid of?
Pluto never sleeps. Don’t let this scare you, have it inspire you instead. Do a ceremony. Drink some medicine. Go into a dark cave and stay there until you are clear. Find a sensory deprivation tank, then submerge. Whatever your technique towards Ecstasy, go for it, that is what these times call out for. Big medicine! Chest out, breathing steady and strong, hold out your staff and exclaim at the top of your lungs, “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!” That should hold of the demons of the mind long enough–at least long enough for Mercury to go Direct, and for the potent Transit to pass.

Transit of the day: Venus and Mercury "Zero for eyes"
The day is Dec 1st, of the year 2010. Mercury and Venus both moved into new signs today: Mercury into Capricorn; Venus into Scorpio (the thunderstuck part of the zodiac where she began her retrogradation cycle, nearly two months ago). They will be walking in this Sextile aspect (60 degrees of seperation) until Dec 10, 2010, when Mercury goes retrograde for his unique 4th (and last) time of the year, until just before New Years Eve, going Direct at 19 Sagittarius. So….oOo….what does it mean? Is it special? If so, how special? Why? And, of course: How does it apply to me…? Well……:
Venus uniqueness:
She began the beginning of her cycle on Oct 9, when she went Retrograde, passing the Sun in the process, beginning her Morning star phase, going Direct at 27 Libra on the 18h of November (don’t miss her at Sunrise). Venus goes Retro evey 19 months, and is the beginning of her journy to the Underworld–relfecting, reevaluating, reconfiguring her entire set of values and what she considers beautiful and worthy in her life. Relationships play a big part. I’m sure–if it wasnt you, then it was someone close to you–who experienced relationship trauma during this cycle. It’s a healthy symptom of the transit, it makes us stronger. When Venus locks down in lotus, and begins her meditation, most often there is a realization about our partners, and how they arent meeting our Needs. This is the root cause of all our Hearts turmoil in the past few months. Venus reflecting. If you remained with your significant Other, there is no doubt–that right now–you are soaring in newer greater heights than before. This is what happens when she turns Direct (Nov 19). Her Needs become certain (….she stands, and blows out the candle).
…..Venus just entered back into Scorpio–the sign it all began in. Scorpio is the realm of unconscious energies (entities) who are attempting to take over our lives through our emotions. They represent: hidden desires, emotional trauma, obsessions, unhealthy attachments, sex, debt, and death. When working with the Scorpionic, it takes all we’ve got. Courage. Fearlessness. An Open and watchful Heart. Now that she is back–returning from Libra (where our relationships were really tested)–she now sees with fresh, tear cleansed eyes. Our Hearts have been re-awoken. So, for all of you reading this, “Don’t worry….we don’t know enough to worry; everything is working out perfectly–with your Lovers and with Yourself.” The tides of Love and Love lost have crashed in. You can now ready yourself for better days. Days filled with moments pregant ecstasy. The Great Easter Sun…and Venus.
The Mercurial edge to this Story:
Mercury just moved into Capricorn–just two degrees away from the transiting North Node , and only 4 from Pluto. Pluto conjunct the Northnode represents the core atomic power of destruction which has been happening in the world–inside and out of us–for nearly the past year. This vital combination (Pluto/Nn) is challenging all life on planet earth to rebuild and rewrite the scripts of our lives. Capricorn represents Society, the Man, and Integrity. In a Big World way, this transit is what we are worried about: the Economy, the Enviroment, our Jobs. In our day to day, they bring great change and emphasis on the structure of our lives. I believe they are assisting all of us to be more Integral beings, filled with Honor and Strength. No lies, no deciet, just living in accordance with Natural law–Divine law. And now, Mercury is involved, asking the questions. Hopefully, learning of all the best ways in which we can assist in this slow and steady Transformation on planet Earth. Mercury will stay in Capricorn until Dec 10th (6 degrees Cap), then go retro until New Years, at 19 Sag, heading back towards where he Stationed Retrograde at 6 degrees Capricorn on the 18th of January. These are important days–revisting days. Ask the Big questions, learn what your heart and Spirit is longing for most, go after it. Make time! Mercury, the Messenger of Gods, the only planet with enough wit and cunning, to enter Pluto’s world and still return unscatched, is allowing us to enter the deepest, most hidden and profound areas of our Minds this month. He is gathering the information needed, and then soaring like a eagle across the Galactic Center of our Galaxy (27-28 Sag) throughout the Retrogradation, bringing to our Minds all we need to know. Whether we pay attention is another matter. This coming Mercury retrograde is going to be a psychedelic one–lets snot doubt that. Meditate. Write. Read. Go deeper with Astrology. Never a better time! Don’t miss the Signs–they are Everywhere!!!!
Together: (Venus/Mercury)
Having affirmed our Essential Needs throughout the Venus retro period, and with Mercury now in Hell’s playground (Pluto/NN Cap) soon to turn retro himself, the change we are waiting for has arrived. The Sextile Venus and Mercury are making to eachother right now is Exciting, Informative, and no short of Inspirational. It’s good for Art, its better for Love. So create, do some practice, sit with yourself, and make sure you get some good lovin’! I believe the cosmos. No timepeice could ever compare to the perfection and impeccable timing of the planets and stars. Happy New Love my friends. You deserve it.
