The time has come, yet once again, for another Mercury retrograde cycle. Being the most common retrograde cycle of all the planets, it doesn’t take away from its importance. Mercury retrograde periods are ideal times to take a break, so we can better reflect on our lives. Mercury relates to our mental processes and how it interacts with our technologies. When a planet goes retro, it turns inwards, and focuses the majority of its energy towards our Inner Universe. This is why our machines tend to malfunction during these cycles. Neglect to the outside breed’s surprise to our distracted eyes. Not just to test our patience, but to allow us to refine or release these tool’s from our lives. Language too, is a tool–a linguistic tool or technology, that isn’t exempt from this process. It is why there are also communication breakdown’s rampant during these 3 week period’s. Fear not, all is working out perfectly.
As the overused Hermetic proverb goes, “As above, so below.” During Mercury retrograde cycles, this aphorism couldn’t be more true. Our external worlds are direct reflections of our internal world. And so, it is up to us to take embrace this change of direction, to willfully intend on recreating a fresh inter-dimensional universe. Through meditation techniques like creative visualization, we can grab the reigns of our imagination and willfully grow new ideas in the garden of our mind. Kinda like this:
The sign in which Mercury is traveling is also vitally important to note. The Zodiacal sign Mercury travels during the cycle is illuminated both Collectively and Personally so we can reach the next spiral of evolution with the Archetype. It is Leo who is focused on during this cycle. Leo is the universal energy of Love, Laughter, Play, the Muse, and our Life purpose. We can learn loads about this Archetype by simply watching a child play. And so the question beckons: What is holding you back from letting go and being fearless to play. The way in which this cycle should be embraced is by taking a break from work and by letting loose a bit. Dance! Dance! Dance! Laugh your ass off! Play games, travel, do the unexpected. Seriously, just take a break for a second. Being that we are already in the shadow (see the “Tech” above) we are already experiencing this. We don’t have to wait for the actual retrograde to happen. It is already happening. So when you are done reading this, sit with the question: Where in my life can I loosen up more and let the light of laugher play!?

…to realize there is no division between this world and that, we can revision our cognitive approach to our lives, gather the tools to reprogram the viral cultural mind, and experience (my favorite “re” word) REVELATION of a true world beyond time, existing within your own mind!…
Reflecting:
Like I was saying, we are already in the Shadow of this cycle. For clarities sake, what this means is that Mercury has already passed the furthest point of the Zodiac where it will travel to during it’s retro journey (1 degree Leo). The day this happened, I returned from my long weekend at Sonic Bloom, and my site was peppered with problems. The thumbnails of all the images on my site were broken, I couldn’t update certain aspect’s of my site, and there were other subtlties. I couldn’t fix it myself. Luckily, I’m surrounded by caring, genius, techies (thanks YES TRIBE) who assisted me in the problem. The result: A new site and a new understanding of how to fix and create within the WordPress structure. Yet, it is still a work in progress. An insight I have had in previous Mercury retrograde’s is this: Whatever transpires during the initial shadow, will likely be reworked and further developed during the actual retrograde–and finished up or completed at the final shadow. The sweet spot comes after.
TIps:
Mercury’s Rx cabinet:::
- Practice patience
- Clean up and polish all of your technologies: this includes computer, phone, car, and body. Bring it all to the “Tech.”
- Careful in what you say. To avoid communication breakdown, take a breath before responding.
- Triple check all of your actions. You will likely be forgetting things.
- Learn to float. No big moves during this phase. Take a damn break for once.
- Be open and receptive like a mid-Summer’s flower
- Embrace Heyoka!!! And laugh your ass off like a crazy person.
….as Terence always said, “Culture is not your friend.” It’s time to defriend/block/report spam to some aspect of the cultural software you have been operating by. It’s time for an upgrade and some reprogramming….
